Initially, there were doubts regarding Ysabel Brown’s acceptance of David Woolley, especially in relation to her mother, Christine Brown’s new relationship. However, it appears that Ysabel has adjusted to the idea that David may indeed be the right companion for Christine. The reality show, Sister Wives, which debuted in 2010, chronicles the life of Kody Brown, a polygamist with four wives and a total of 18 children. Among them is 21-year-old Ysabel, daughter of Kody’s third wife, Christine, who is currently 52. Following 27 years of plural marriage and the birth of five children, Christine became the first of Kody’s wives to exit their unconventional union in 2021.
This separation had been anticipated, as Christine had expressed her dissatisfaction for an extended period. Despite her efforts to mend the relationship, Kody seemed disinterested in reconciliation. By the time season 19 of Sister Wives aired, three of Kody’s four wives had departed, leaving him in a monogamous marriage with his fourth wife, Robbyn Brown, aged 36. The fallout influenced many of Kody’s adult children, including Ysabel, who initially found it difficult to embrace her mother’s swift transition into a new relationship. Thankfully, it seems that Ysabel’s perspective is evolving.
Ysabel Thought Christine Moved Too Fast With David
Christine Wasn’t Single Long

Christine’s decision to leave the plural marriage was surprising, but even more unexpected was her rapid transition into a new romantic relationship. In season 19 of Sister Wives, we witness Christine taking the initiative to date once again. She created an online dating profile and began meeting potential partners, which showcased her bravery in re-entering the dating world after what was presumably a hurtful separation from Kody.
Not long after beginning to date, Christine met David, a father of ten and a widower, and their first date seemed promising. As fans, it was fascinating to experience the early stages of Christine and David’s connection, albeit with clear discomfort from some of Christine’s children. Ysabel, in particular, expressed difficulty in accepting her mother’s new partner so promptly after her previous relationship.
Christine’s Children Had Serious Reservations
“On The Fence A Bit”

Initial meetings between David and Christine’s children were awkward. During an episode of season 19, David attended a family dinner, where Christine noted the mixed reactions from her kids.“Some of my kids are great with David, ” she shared.“Some of my kids are, like, on the fence a bit.” The discomfort was particularly highlighted by Christine’s son, Paedon Brown, who humorously but awkwardly addressed David as “Richard”instead.
“My mom did just get out of a what, 25-year relationship, and then starts talking about getting married, ”Aspyn pointed out.“It does seem really, really, really fast.”
Aspyn also voiced her struggle with watching her mother display affection towards someone new. Ysabel remarked, “I’m not totally familiar with her kissing somebody else.”Over time, though, it seems likely that Christine’s children have become more accustomed to seeing their mother express affection for David.
Christine Deserves Ysabel’s Support
And David Does Too

While it’s understandable for Ysabel to have reservations about her mother’s swift change in marital status, it’s imperative to recognize that David has treated Christine with kindness. Despite my initial thoughts that Christine should have taken more time before entering into another relationship, it’s clear that such timing shouldn’t determine the value of a good partnership. David brings happiness to Christine’s life, and it’s crucial for her children to embrace this new chapter.
