TLC’s long-running reality series, Sister Wives, premiered its season 19, episode 3 on Sunday, September 29, at 10 PM ET, which is also available for streaming on Hulu the following day. This popular reality show delves into the lives of Kody Brown and his four wives—Robyn, Christine, Janelle, and Meri—exploring the complexities and challenges stemming from their polyamorous relationship.
In the earlier episodes of season 19, viewers saw Mykelti’s baby shower become a significant gathering for Kody, Robyn, and Christine, highlighting months of disconnection. Janelle was contemplating selling her share of the property in Flagstaff, and Kody expressed his confusion over Janelle’s reluctance to reconcile during Christine’s wedding.
Meri previously divorced Kody but maintained a “spiritual”marriage until their separation in 2023. Christine Brown ended her relationship with Kody in late 2021, while Janelle decided to leave Kody in 2022, after three decades together.
What transpired in Sister Wives season 19 episode 3?
In episode 3, Mykelti extended an invitation to all the sister wives as she was close to giving birth to twins; however, Kody was left off the guest list due to the evident rift between him and the rest of the family. The lack of communication with his family members and now ex-wives led to a division of their property in Coyote Pass, which was initially purchased for the family to live together.
Later on, a couple connected with the Brown family invited all exes, including Kody, to their wedding. While Kody was reluctant to see his exes, Robyn insisted on attending, resulting in Kody behaving awkwardly around everyone except Meri, with whom he exchanged a few words. In a confessional, Kody admitted that he struggled to comprehend Janelle’s stance on separation and wished for their marriage to continue.
During Sister Wives, Janelle revealed that she sensed something was off in Kody and Robyn’s household when she visited with her kids. She indicated that her children were aware that Kody’s presence would be limited due to their unusual family dynamics. Since Robyn’s arrival, Kody had mismanaged the time he could have with his children.
Kody and Janelle share six children, while three were adopted from Robyn’s previous marriage, along with two biological kids together. Robyn contended that the tension did not stem from her presence, affirming that her children loved Kody, which did not impede him from spending time with his other kids.
“Did it ever stop Kody from going to another mom’s home? No, it didn’t. I wouldn’t have allowed it,” Robyn stated.
Robyn also shared that Meri’s child, Leon, had embraced her children, although she acknowledged that others may have found it challenging. Christine added that her six children avoided visiting Kody’s house due to how the adults interacted.
The first significant clash between Janelle and Kody occurred when her adult kids returned home. Kody suggested that Janelle should choose between her children and him, leading her to decisively keep her kids, which frustrated Kody.
At the aforementioned wedding, one of the older kids embraced Robyn, expressing their affection for her, as she treated them like family—this was part of why she was also invited to Mykelti’s c-section.
Robyn even offered assistance to Mykelti after the birthing of her twins, as Mykelti also has an older daughter and appreciated the extra help. She shared on Sister Wives that she was mourning “lost relationships”and dealing with situational depression.
