Re-debut of Former FIFTY FIFTY Members as ‘ablume’
MASSIVE E&C, a subsidiary of NSENM (previously IOK Company), officially revealed on October 15 that ar former FIFTY FIFTY members Aran, Saena, and Sio have formed a new three-member girl group called ‘ablume’.
As reported by Single List, a Korean news agency, the name ‘ablume’ is a creative term inspired by the German word ‘blume’, which translates to flower, symbolizing growth and the blooming process.
This name reflects the journey of the trio as they uncover their individual strengths and talents, harmonizing them to create varied and impactful music.
The official social media accounts of ‘ablume’ have also featured a post about the flower cosmos, hinting at the thematic direction of the group’s future music.
“Cheerfulness and Harmony”– Cosmos, with its delicate petals swaying in the autumn breeze, embodies purity and peace, symbolizing harmony with nature.”
The post included the word ‘October’, leading fans to speculate whether it might represent the group’s signature flower or perhaps the name of their fandom.
Fans also theorized that ‘ablume’ could unveil a new flower monthly or seasonally, generating excitement about how this floral concept aligns with the artistic vision of the singers.
After the departure from FIFTY FIFTY and their previous management, ATTRAKT, supporters of the original members from the hit song Cupid have been eagerly anticipating their re-debut. Following the announcement, numerous K-pop fans have expressed their encouragement for the trio.
The group FIFTY FIFTY initially launched on November 18, 2022, with their EP The Fifty. They debuted as a quartet comprising Saena, Sio, Aran, and Keena, achieving significant success both domestically and internationally with their popular track Cupid.
However, the three members—Saena, Sio, and Aran—accused ATTRAKT of violating their contract by “failing to provide accounting information”and neglecting its duties towards the group’s mental well-being, as highlighted in the Korea Times.
Their contracts were terminated in October, and ATTRAKT is presently pursuing a claims case against the three former members amounting to $9.7 million.
Meanwhile, the fourth member, Keena, later resolved her legal disputes and returned to form a new five-member group along with four new recruits: Chanelle, Yewon, Hana, and Athena.
