Simultaneous Potion Usage Guide in Hogwarts Legacy

After completing the Jackdaw’s Rest main quest in Hogwarts Legacy, players receive an assignment from Professor Sharp titled “Professor Sharp’s Assignment 1.” This quest involves a couple of objectives: acquiring and utilizing a Focus Potion, and obtaining both Maxima and Edurus Potions to use simultaneously.

While the game does not clearly explain how to combine the effects of two potions at once, this guide will walk players through the process of using potions simultaneously. For detailed crafting instructions for the required potions and information on gathering materials, please refer to our comprehensive Hogwarts Legacy guide.

Upon fulfilling the requirements set by Professor Sharp, players gain access to the Depulso spell. This spell, as described in-game, “repels many types of objects and enemies with considerable force.” While it does not inflict direct damage, it can cause chaos by launching enemies and objects into one another, maximizing strategic advantages. Moreover, it serves practical purposes like pushing and rotating items.

To successfully use Maxima and Edurus potions simultaneously, follow these steps:

  1. Press and hold the L1/LB button to access the Tool Wheel.
  2. Navigate to one of the potions and release the L1 button to equip it.
  3. Drink the equipped potion by pressing L1 once (without holding it).
  4. As soon as the potion effects activate, quickly repeat the process to equip the second potion.
  5. The game will register both potions as active simultaneously, thus completing Professor Sharp’s challenge.

The Edurus Potion is crafted using Mongrel Fur and Ashwinder Eggs, enhancing defense for 20 seconds by enveloping the user in a sturdy, rocky skin. In contrast, the Maxima Potion boosts spell damage for 30 seconds and can be brewed at a potion station with Spider Fangs and Leech Juice.
