Neely’s Bar: Your Safe Haven in Silent Hill 2 Remake
In a fog-laden world filled with terror, Neely’s Bar emerges as a rare refuge in the Silent Hill 2 Remake. While you may feel a semblance of safety here, the bar holds an intriguing puzzle centered around a mysterious Jukebox that beckons you to solve it. The initial appearance of complexity can be off-putting, but fear not—the solution involves just three components.
Essential Items for the Jukebox Puzzle
To fix the jukebox, you need to locate the following three items:
- Broken Vinyl Record
- Neely’s Bar Coin
- Jukebox Button
Don’t stress about the sequence of acquisition; just ensure you gather all three. Below, you will find detailed locations and methods to obtain them.
Finding the Broken Vinyl Record
Your quest for the Broken Vinyl Record begins at the Groovy Music store. To reach it, exit Neely’s Bar, turn right onto Neely Street, and head straight. The store will be on your left.
You can consult your map by pressing the Up button on your D-pad. Upon entering the store, be prepared to face two Lying Figures. They may seem intimidating, but they pale in comparison to other foes you’ll encounter.
After dispatching (or avoiding) these threats, break through the glass to access the adjacent room. On a table inside, you will find half of the Broken Vinyl along with Vinyl Glue. If you visited Neely’s Bar first, you should already possess the other half. Combine both halves using the glue to create the Glued Up Vinyl Record. If you miss out on one half, don’t worry; you can acquire it upon your return to the bar.
Locating Neely’s Bar Coin
The next stop on your adventure is the Texan Cafe, where you will find the Neely’s Bar Coin. After exiting the Groovy Music store, retrace your steps towards Neely’s Bar, taking a left onto Katz Street. The Texan Cafe will be on your right.
As you make your way there, you may encounter more Lying Figures; it’s perfectly acceptable to either eliminate them or simply rush past. Upon entering the cafe, head behind the counter to interact with the cash register. Use the Key and press the bottom right button to reveal the Neely’s Bar Coin within a printed bill.
Securing the Jukebox Button
Your final objective is the Jukebox Button, located within the bathroom of a third-floor room. Make your way to the Saul Apartments. Once inside, acquire the map and then shift the bookshelf adjacent to it. This will grant you access to the reception area, where you can collect the key to Apartment 5.
Proceed upstairs to the last room on your left—Room No. 5. Use the key to enter and inspect the wall for a crack that allows passage to another side. Here, you will find another crack that leads to a fire escape, ultimately guiding you to the third floor. Enter the next room, go into the bathroom, and investigate a hole in the wall.
Inside, you’ll find the Jukebox Button. To exit, simply utilize the ladder back down to the ground floor. If you collected the Blue Gem from the Silent Hill Jewelry Store in Eastern South Vale, examine it on the rooftop to find an eye symbol. This is essential for one of the three locations tied to the UFO ending.
Solving the Jukebox Puzzle
Now that you’ve gathered all necessary components, return to Neely’s Bar and approach the Jukebox. The first step in resolving the puzzle involves fixing the Vinyl tray.
To begin, use the green mechanism to slide the Vinyl tray outward. Next, engage the blue spring-like mechanism to secure it in a downward position. Finally, activate the green mechanism once more to remove the tray and insert the Glued Up Vinyl Record in its place.
Now that the record is in place, you’ll observe the Vinyls moving upward, initiating the next phase of the puzzle. Position the Jukebox Button into the vacant slot located between buttons 1 and 3.
Interact with the coin slot and insert the Neely’s Bar Coin you obtained earlier.
Finally, press the blue “C”button along with the number “2”Jukebox button to play the Glued Up Vinyl Record. A cutscene will unfold, showcasing various memories of James, hinting towards Mary’s presence at Rosewater Park. Once the scene concludes, the Jukebox will malfunction, rewarding you with the Neely’s Bar Key.
Use this key to exit the bar through another door and continue your journey toward Woodside Apartments.
