Significance of the Upcoming Minecraft Update for Bedrock Players Compared to Java Edition
Mojang Studios recently introduced the Minecraft Bundles of Bravery update during their annual live event, showcasing the exciting features coming with this game release. While these game drops represent a refreshing shift from previous update methods, many players feel the initial release hasn’t equally benefited both Editions.
Initial observations indicate that Bedrock Edition users may enjoy a richer array of features in the Bundles of Bravery update compared to their Java Edition counterparts.
Why Bedrock Edition Players Will Experience More Content in the Minecraft Bundles of Bravery Update
Exclusive Hardcore Mode Introduced for Bedrock Edition
A key highlight of this first game drop is the introduction of hardcore mode, exclusively for Bedrock Edition players. Unlike Java Edition, which has featured this intense game mode for years, Bedrock users can now engage in this high-stakes environment where death is permanent. Once a player dies, they cannot respawn in the usual way and must spectate the world instead.
As the only exclusive feature from the Bundles of Bravery update set to arrive on Java, it’s clear that Bedrock players are receiving a greater benefit from this update.
Bundles Are the Sole Addition for Both Java and Bedrock Editions
The Bundle is the highlight of the update, making its debut in both Java and Bedrock Editions. Even though this feature is being introduced now, Mojang originally presented it as part of the Caves and Cliffs update back in 2020. Due to issues with its functionality on various devices, particularly on mobile consoles and smartphones, it was initially shelved for nearly four years.
In August 2024, the developers confirmed that they have resumed work on the bundle and intend to incorporate it into an upcoming release. This revival will come with new and vibrant bundle designs that players can create by dyeing them at the crafting table, along with a complete overhaul of the user interface.
Players will be able to craft these small pouch-like items using leather and twine, capable of holding a total of 64 items. These items can either be identical or of different types, as long as they do not exceed the 64-item limit. Additionally, once filled, these bundles can be dropped for other players to collect.
