This speculation was confirmed a month later, with the game now expected to launch in June 2025.

In the wake of these events, updates about Marathon have been scarce, but Bungie has kept itself in the spotlight with ongoing developments for Destiny 2. However, Bungie has quashed those fears with the announcement of a new round of sign-ups for an exclusive Closed Technical Test, scheduled to take place from October 22 to 27, 2025.

According to a blog post on Bungie’s official website, the studio has been conducting closed tests since June and is now eager to involve a broader audience. Participants in the upcoming test will experience three maps, proximity chat features, a solo queue option, and what Bungie describes as “re-tuned”combat mechanics.
