Sigil is a multi-platform ebook editor that is completely free and open source. It is specifically designed for editing books in both ePub 2 and ePub 3 formats, and offers advanced features such as direct editing of XHTML, CSS, and XPGT. With Sigil, users can easily add any of the metadata entries supported by the EPUB specification and create a hierarchical Table of Contents.
