“Shocking Timing!” – Internet Reacts to Tupac Shakur’s Family Hiring Investigators for Diddy’s Possible Connection to His Murder
The family of late rapper Tupac Shakur has enlisted an investigator to explore a possible connection between Tupac’s murder and Sean “Diddy”Combs. Alex Spiro, a prominent attorney based in New York, confirmed to Court TV that he began looking into this matter on Friday, October 4, 2024.
Tupac was tragically shot and killed while driving in Las Vegas in 1996, and his murder remained unsolved until September 2023. During that time, former gang leader Duane “Keffe D”Davis was arrested and charged with the crime. Notably, Davis had previously claimed that Combs was involved in planning the murder.
As news regarding this investigation broke, internet users swiftly reacted. Many took to platform X to express their thoughts, with a multitude asserting that Diddy’s involvement was a well-known fact. One user remarked that it was “crazy”this is being investigated now.
Users on X shared their responses to @PopCrave’s post concerning the investigator’s involvement. Many described it as a “juicy conspiracy theory,”while some mentioned the significance of living in such historic times.
“being alive for this is crazy and historical imo,”one user wrote.
“TikTok is the reason for this is crazy,”another user commented.
“sounds like a juicy conspiracy theory to dive into,”@blesskatty stated.
Others expressed curiosity about the potential outcomes of the investigation.
“28 years later and we might find out who actually was responsible for Tupac’s death,”one fan remarked.
“As they should and Biggie’s family should do the same,”@GaiaOsiris suggested.
“This could add a whole new layer to the Tupac case. It’s intriguing to see where this investigation will lead,”another wrote.
Duane “Keffe D”Davis alleged that Diddy offered him $1 million for a hit on Tupac
Duane “Keffe D”Davis, who is currently facing charges for murder with a deadly weapon, previously asserted that Diddy offered him $1 million for a hit on Tupac. An October 2024 report by the Tribune revealed that a detective provided testimony before a grand jury on this matter.
This testimony included claims that Suge Knight Jr. told associates that Diddy was “responsible, if not directly, indirectly”for the murder of the California Love hitmaker. It’s important to note that Suge was also injured in that shooting.
Duane “Keffe D”Davis’ trial is scheduled to commence in March 2025.
Diddy has consistently denied any involvement in the murder. In March 2008, an article by Chuck Philips in The Los Angeles Times, titled “An Attack on Tupac Shakur Launched a Hip-Hop War,”was subsequently deleted.
This report suggested that Combs and his associates, including the late rapper Notorious B.I.G., were implicated in the robbery and shooting of Tupac at a New York recording studio. It further alleged that this incident ignited the feud between East Coast and West Coast rappers, ultimately leading to the deaths of both Shakur and B.I.G.
At the time, according to Billboard, Diddy issued a statement declaring the article a fabrication. He stated that neither he nor B.I.G. had any knowledge of the attack “before, during, or after it occurred.”
In the years following Tupac’s death, several artists, including Eminem, have implied connections between the shooting and Diddy. In his recent collaboration with JID titled “Fuel,”he rapped:
“Notorious B.I.G.’s death was the domino effect of Tupac’s murder, like facial tissue, whose clock should I clean next? Puff’s? ‘Til he’s in police handcuffs, guilty, will he step up?”
In his 2018 track “Killshot,”Eminem mentioned:
“Kells, the day you put out a hit’s the day Diddy admits that he put the hit out that got Pac killed.”
In September 2024, federal authorities arrested Sean Combs and charged him with racketeering, sexual trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. Since then, over 120 new victims, including minors, have filed lawsuits against the rapper, accusing him of abuse and assault.
Diddy has denied all allegations made against him. If convicted, the music mogul could face a sentence of 15 years to life imprisonment.
