“This album’s been just naturally growing and I didn’t realize it was a four-year gap”: Luke Bryan on his latest album release

Just a day later, on September 27, 2024, Luke Bryan unveiled his eighth studio album, Mind of a Country Boy. This new album arrives four years after his previous album Born Here Live Here Die Here, released in August 2020.

In a statement shared on the WJBD radio website, the talented Buy Dirt singer reflected on the duration between albums, stating:

“This album’s been just naturally growing and I didn’t realize it was a four-year gap. When you go do a Vegas residency and [American] Idol and all that, your mind gets a little scrambled.”

He added:

“But then when we had ‘Love You, Miss You, Mean It,’ it really started popping, and we were like, ‘All right, we got, like, the song that feels like the single to build an album around.’”

Luke Bryan’s new album features 14 tracks, including hits like “But I Got a Beer in My Hand”and “Pair of Boots.”However, the artist disclosed that he had to cut 18 songs to select the final tracklist. Luke mentioned he even penned two to three songs that didn’t make the cut.

“You know, I write a little bit. It’s not like I’m out there grinding, writing, you know, 200 songs a year like I did for 10 years. So I’m writing a little bit when I get great ideas that I’m really excited to write, and then we try to go find the songs that make it all work.”

Furthermore, Luke expressed excitement about the song “Love You, Miss You, Mean It,”calling it “a big song out there”that boosts his confidence in the direction of his album and future musical endeavors.

In other exciting news, on September 30, 2024, ABC and The Country Music Association announced that Luke Bryan will be hosting “The 58th Annual CMA Awards”alongside Lainey Wilson and Peyton Manning. The prestigious awards ceremony will take place on November 20, 2024, marking Luke’s fourth time as host of the CMA Awards.
