“She wants my belt and I want to defend it” – Stamp will keep it professional between her and bestie Denice Zamboanga
ONE women’s atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex is determined to defend her crown at ONE 167, stating that she will set aside her friendship with Denice Zamboanga during the fight.
The renowned Thai athlete is currently on her way to defend her world title for the first time on June 7 against her former stablemate ‘The Menace’ Denice Zamboanga at Impact Arena in Bangkok.
Despite now being on opposite sides as rivals, the bond between these two women remains unbreakable. They have spent the last two years training together under the same banner, developing a strong friendship. As they prepare to face each other in the upcoming MMA bout, their journey has only added to the intrigue and made their friendship all the more special, despite the challenge it now presents.
Nevertheless, Stamp remains committed to maintaining a professional demeanor.
Stamp stated on the MMA Superfan show:
“She wants my belt and I want to defend it. I just have to continue doing my job and defending my belt. In terms of friendship, that is outside the ring.”

Stamp makes a triumphant return to the spotlight, fueled by her impressive victory over South Korean fighter Ham Seo Hee at ONE Fight Night 14 in September, where she claimed the ONE atomweight world title.
That evening, she definitively showcased her abilities as a fully competent MMA fighter, capable of winning fights through either submission or knockout.
The 26-year-old sensation now has a chance to introduce something novel to Zamboanga, catching them off guard once again.

Despite the fact that Stamp Fairtex and her Filipino challenger Denice Zamboanga are good friends, Stamp will not hesitate to give her all in the upcoming fight. Similarly, Denice has also put aside any sentimental feelings and is fully focused on the competition.
Despite earning a world title opportunity through two consecutive victories against Lin Heqin and Julie Mezarbarba, ‘The Menace’ has no intention of holding back against her Thai friend.
Zamboanga’s determination to achieve the top spot in the atomweight division is the sole focus of her thoughts.
The 27-year-old striker spoke to the MMA Superfan, saying:
“It doesn’t matter who the champion is, be it her or someone else, my mindset going into the fight will always be that way. This is going to be all business for me.”
