During a recent appearance on the Tamron Hall Show, GloRilla, a singer, rapper, and social media influencer from Tennessee, discussed her visit to the White House last month. She expressed her profound gratitude for the opportunity to meet President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Following this, GloRilla was pleasantly surprised to receive a heartfelt message from her father, Edwin C. Woods Sr., during the show. In a pre-recorded video, the proud father expressed,
“I am the father of GloRilla otherwise known as my baby, Gloria [Hallelujah] Woods. I am very proud of my daughter. She has risen from humble beginnings to going to the White House. I am extremely proud of Gloria and may she have many many more days of success.”
The Tomorrow rapper was left emotional and teary-eyed by the heartfelt message from her father.
GloRilla Reflects on Inspiring Experience at the White House
During the latest episode of the Tamron Hall Show, GloRilla, also known as Glo, shared her experience of being invited to the White House for Women’s History Month in March. She had the opportunity to meet with President Biden and Vice President Harris, and when asked by the host, she described her reaction to receiving the invitation.
“I always be thinking they [her team] are lying for some reason. Every time they tell me something good, I am like, ‘This can’t be real.’ I still haven’t accepted the reality of it,” she mentioned.
The F.N.F. (Let’s Go) singer also recounted the “experience”of passing through “security”and entering the premises.
“It was like, ‘Oh my God, I am here, I am here, I am here, I am here.’ Once I got in, it was a beautiful feeling. I never would have expected to be in the White House,” she added.
During her recent interview with Tamron Hall, the viral Instagram video from the day was played. The video showed her posing for a selfie with the President, and while she smiled and exclaimed, “Yeah, Joe!” , Joe Biden responded with, “Not ‘Yeah, Joe.’ Yeah, You!”
During the conversation, GloRilla’s father made an appearance in a video, delivering a heartfelt message for his daughter. He expressed his pride in her journey from a simple Memphis girl to the White House, and wished her all the best for a successful future.
The young rapper, who was 24 years old, became emotional upon receiving the message. She expressed her love for her father, who held a special place in her heart, through both smiles and tears. Her father had accompanied her as her plus one at the BET Hip Hop Awards in October 2023 and they had posed together on the red carpet.
During their honest conversation, GloRilla and Tamron Hall also discussed various topics, such as the challenges women encounter in the hip-hop industry, Glo’s upbringing, her contributions to her former middle and high schools, her decision to not publicly discuss her political beliefs, and more.
Despite being questioned about the validity of the rumors that rappers Cardi B and Lil Uzi Vert are her cousins, the Anyways, Life’s Great hitmaker confirmed that they were indeed accurate.
