Seoul Music Awards Donates 500,000 Won to World Sharp in BTS Jungkook’s Honor After Special Korean Wave Award Win

On Tuesday, September 24, World Sharp announced their generous donation of 500,000 won in the name of BTS Jungkook, aimed at supporting women, children, and young people in need in Malawi, East Africa. This contribution was made in honor of Jungkook’s win of the Special Korean Wave Award at the 2024 Seoul Music Awards.

The donation was made under his name to commemorate the idol’s achievement. Here’s what World Sharp stated regarding the donation:

“Congratulations on winning the Special Korean Wave Award for fan voting in August at the Seoul Music Awards. Jungkook’s positive influence and compassionate heart have provided great hope for the vulnerable in Malawi, including women, children, and young people. The 500,000 won donated under Jungkook’s name will be utilized by World Sharp to enhance the education and self-reliance of those in need in Malawi.”

The award ceremony took place in August this year, where Jungkook received the Special Korean Wave Award. The winner in this category is decided through a fan-voting system, with fans and netizens voting for their favorite idol via the My1Pick app.

Jungkook secured the trophy, marking his sixth consecutive win in this category at the Seoul Music Awards. While fans were already in high spirits celebrating the idol’s victory, the announcement of a donation made in his name further thrilled them.

Additionally, the idol earned another accolade at the 2024 Seoul Music Awards, taking home the K-pop Choice Award.
