Despite the recent release of the second half of the first season, Amazon has already announced the exciting news of Secret Level‘s second season. This announcement came through the series’ official Twitter account, signaling the production of new episodes that will delve into additional popular video games. Impressively, Secret Level has made history by achieving the largest debut for an animated series on Prime Video, a platform that also boasts hits like Invincible and The Legend of Vox Machina. This success further cements Prime Video’s growing reputation in the realm of video game adaptations, especially following the recent accolade of Fallout for Best Adaptation at the Game Awards.

Anticipated Games for Secret Level Season 2

While specific details regarding the release timeframe or storyline for the anticipated second season remain under wraps, co-creators Tim Miller and Dave Wilson have expressed enthusiasm about exploring numerous video game titles for future episodes. They have mentioned the potential for adaptations like Pong or Fortnite. Viewers have also actively engaged online, suggesting their preferred franchises for dedicated episodes, including Gears of War, BioShock, and Dead Space.

The inaugural season of Secret Level consisted of 15 unique episodes, each spotlighting a different intellectual property, leaving a plethora of games available for season two explorations. Nevertheless, creative decisions may need to navigate around existing projects, as Prime Video is concurrently developing dedicated series for titles such as God of War and Mass Effect. The appetite for gaming adaptations continues to rise, with numerous initiatives in progress across Hollywood studios. Season 2 may even find opportunities to synchronize with marketing strategies for upcoming game releases, similar to Season 1’s dark PAC-MAN episode, which was cleverly connected to a game launch announced at the Game Awards.

Secret Level Season 1 is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.
