SEAL Team Season 7 Episode 9, titled The Sea and the Hills, premiered on Paramount+ on Sunday, September 29, 2024. This gripping episode introduces new challenges for the Bravo Team after they uncover a traitor who has jeopardized their mission.
In the previous episode, SEAL Team Season 7 Episode 8, intelligence on Ramon Nazario and his drug syndicate led Bravo into a chop shop, where they discovered bags of fentanyl concealed in the upholstery of one of the vehicles stored in the compound. Driven by a personal vendetta after Mikey’s overdose, Jason took it upon himself to destroy all the drugs. Following a close encounter with Nazario’s men, Jason left a trail of dead bodies in his wake.
Further intel directed the Bravo Team to one of Nazario’s camps hidden within the jungle. They anticipated Nazario would be absent and aimed to demolish the site to weaken his forces. However, to their shock, they found Ross Curtis, deceptively labeled as a “trusted DEA informant,” instead.
This shocking revelation complicates Bravo’s operation in Honduras, setting the stage for more action-packed scenes as the elite SEAL Team persists in their hunt for both Nazario and the traitor among them.

The Bravo Team Captures Nazario in SEAL Team Season 7 Episode 9
Since SEAL Team Season 7 Episode 7, Bravo’s mission in Honduras has focused on unraveling the connection between the Chinese and Nazario in the international fentanyl trade. The subsequent episodes saw them gathering evidence against the former Honduran Special Forces colonel or capturing Nazario himself.
During Episode 8, they attempted to disrupt his drug operation by destroying a fentanyl stash and obliterating his jungle camp, although their latter endeavor failed upon uncovering Ross Curtis’ involvement. The hunt for Nazario persists in Episode 9, aptly titled as Bravo ventures into “the sea and the hills” in pursuit of him.
In the early moments of this penultimate episode, Bravo receives intel regarding Nazario’s yacht. However, upon arrival, they find the boat abandoned except for a handful of guards, and it is rigged with explosives.
Fortunately, the team leaps into the water just in time to evade the explosion, though Jason nearly misses the opportunity after going back to retrieve the yacht’s GPS.
While the rest of Bravo remains upset with Jason for his reckless decision, the GPS he salvaged supplies crucial intel regarding Nazario’s location. It leads them to a coastal favela where Nazario has taken refuge, but the mission does not go as smoothly as they had hoped.
A neighbor spots them and warns the rest of the community, allowing Nazario to escape just before Bravo reaches his hideout.
However, they successfully track the vehicle he used to flee, and by the conclusion of SEAL Team Season 7 Episode 9, the team finally apprehends Nazario after intense gunfights and narrow escapes from his men’s RPGs.
Notably, during Nazario’s capture, Jason and Drew are conspicuously absent, leaving Ray in command of Bravo.
Where Did Jason and Drew Go?
In the latter half of Bravo’s effort to capture Nazario, both Jason and Drew mysteriously vanish. After the events in the coastal favela, the team awaits a helicopter and vehicle to pursue Nazario as he tries to flee.
Suddenly, a US military personnel approaches Jason, delivering a phone that contains information which alters the course of their operation.
When Ray queries Jason about the situation, he informs him that he’s been FRAGO’d (fragmentary order in military parlance), which visibly frustrates the rest of Bravo considering the high-stakes nature of their operation.
Despite the chaos, Jason asserts he cannot refuse the order, as it would place Bravo in opposition to Command. He specifies that the team must proceed with the interdiction as planned but without his participation.
Jason entrusts Bravo to Ray and instructs him to ensure the safe return of the team. Just as Jason is about to depart, Drew approaches him, expressing his concern over losing another team leader. He insists on accompanying Jason on this new mission, and ultimately, Jason relents, although their destination remains unclear at the episode’s conclusion.
Moreover, during Jason’s discussion with Ray before he and Drew leave, it becomes evident what is at stake. Jason reveals that the order originates from “higher than Command,” emphasizing that they are after Ross Curtis.
After Ray emphasizes the challenges of “apprehending a Green Beret solo,” Jason remains silent, leading Ray to realize Jason’s real mission is to eliminate Ross Curtis.
Jason Reveals His Secrets to Bravo in SEAL Team Season 7 Episode 9
In addition to high-stakes missions, much of SEAL Team Season 7’s narrative also explores the personal lives of the Bravo Team members beyond their duties. As the season progresses, they have unveiled elements of their backstories, from Drew’s relationship with Echo in SEAL Team Season 7 Episode 5 to Omar’s struggles with child custody in Episode 8.
In SEAL Team Season 7 Episode 9, Jason shares a long-held secret with the team, revealing that their fentanyl operations are deeply personal for him, stemming from Mikey’s overdose.
Additionally, in his conversation with Ray, Jason discloses what he put inside the burn box—a string of prayer beads, which served as a trophy from his first kill.
Jason recounts how a mall attack in Sweden triggered traumatic memories of his first kill from two decades ago, to which Ray poignantly responds that “memory lane is a minefield,”highlighting the necessity to focus on the future rather than the past.
