Channel37 Launches Debut Game: The Last Caretaker
In an exciting development for the gaming community, a group of former Trials developers based in Finland established a new studio named Channel37 in 2021. Today, this ambitious team has unveiled its inaugural project, The Last Caretaker, which is now available in early access on both PC platforms, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Explore an Underwater World
The Last Caretaker immerses players in a unique survival crafting experience, where you take on the role of a care-taking robot. Awakening in a submerged world, your mission begins with reviving the ship you’re aboard. Once you successfully restart the ship’s engine, you embark on an adventure to salvage humanity’s future, exploring the vast ocean for essential resources to enhance your vessel and pursue your ultimate objective: the survival of mankind.
Roadmap to Full Launch
Alongside this early access launch, Channel37 has shared an ambitious roadmap for The Last Caretaker. The studio aims to roll out the full version of the game by next year, with major updates slated to enhance gameplay. The first significant update is expected before the year’s end, introducing exciting new features such as:
- New game modules
- Night vision mechanics
- A fresh node questline
- Warehouses and caves for exploration
- A basketball mini-game
Looking ahead to 2026, Channel37 has plans for four substantial updates spread throughout the year, with the first one launching at the start of the year, followed by additional content in spring and summer. If all goes as planned, fans can anticipate the definitive version of the game to coincide with today’s early access launch.

Commitment to Players
Channel37’s co-founder, Antti Ilvesuo, expressed their enthusiasm: “We’re delighted to share our vision with players and are committed to the long-term future of The Last Caretaker. Our goal was to create a believable world that emphasizes survival in a sensible manner. By releasing this roadmap, we demonstrate our commitment, and we’re determined to provide all of this and more as we progress toward the full launch in 2026.”
