Samsung Wants to Make Bixby Even More Powerful with Generative AI Features

Despite previous challenges, it seems that Samsung remains committed to advancing Bixby. In fact, a high-level executive at Samsung has revealed plans to incorporate generative AI capabilities into their personal assistant. This development may come to fruition in the near future.

Samsung’s Plans to Enhance Bixby with Generative AI are Highly Anticipated

During a conversation with CNBC, the mentioned executive discussed Samsung’s plans to incorporate generative AI into Bixby, which is a logical and necessary step. Won-joon Choi, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business unit, expressed this sentiment by stating,

“Given the advancements in generative AI and LLM technology, I believe it is necessary to redefine Bixby’s role in order to equip it with Generative AI and enhance its intelligence in the future.”

Despite a bumpy beginning, Samsung has not abandoned its Bixby assistant even after nearly seven years since its introduction. And with the addition of generative AI capabilities, it is safe to say that Bixby will only continue to improve.

Despite the lack of additional information from Samsung executives about the future of Bixby once it incorporates all of its generative AI features, I am eagerly anticipating its improved functionality and ease of use. While I cannot say for certain if it will be able to compete with the likes of Assistant or Gemini, I have confidence in Samsung’s commitment to keeping their products and services up to date. I am eagerly awaiting further developments.

Earlier this year, the company discussed the coexistence of Bixby and Galaxy AI. At the time, it was uncertain how this would be achieved. However, with Samsung’s implementation of generative AI, we now have a better understanding. I am eagerly anticipating the results of this integration.
