Samsung Unveils Odyssey OLED G6 and G8 Gaming Monitors: 4K Resolution and 500 Hz Refresh Rate

Samsung has recently announced the introduction of its groundbreaking Odyssey OLED G6 and G8 monitors, marking the debut of its first 500 Hz OLED gaming display and a 27-inch 4K OLED monitor. These innovative products are set to be showcased at the upcoming CES event, alongside a range of other exciting technologies.

Introducing Samsung’s Latest Cutting-Edge Displays for Gamers and Creators

Samsung is set to unveil five remarkable new display products designed to enhance gaming experiences and boost productivity at CES. Among these is the highly anticipated Smart Monitor M9 (Model: M90SF), touted as one of the industry’s first AI-enabled monitors. This advanced display incorporates on-device AI to deliver features such as AI Picture Optimizer and 4K AI Upscaling Pro. These functionalities work together to significantly elevate the viewing experience for gaming, movies, and content creation by automatically adjusting settings according to the content type.

Following that, Samsung has revealed two high-performance gaming monitors featuring state-of-the-art OLED technology. The Odyssey OLED G8 (Model: G81SF) holds the distinction of being the company’s first OLED 4K monitor with a remarkable refresh rate of up to 240 Hz, designed to compete with renowned models from ASUS and MSI. On the other hand, the Odyssey OLED G6 (Model: G60SF) offers a QHD resolution (2560×1440) with an astonishing refresh rate of 500 Hz, ensuring extremely smooth gameplay.

Both the G6 and G8 models boast a phenomenal 0.03ms response time for gray-to-gray transitions, along with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support to eliminate screen tearing, creating an optimal gaming environment. Furthermore, they incorporate DisplayHDR True Black 400 technology, providing enhanced brightness and deep contrasts that surpass standard OLED displays.

The line-up continues with the Odyssey 3D (Model: G90XF), a unique 27-inch gaming monitor that offers a customizable 3D experience without the need for 3D glasses. It employs AI technology to transform 2D content into 3D, adding depth and enriching the gaming experience.

Lastly, the lineup features the ViewFinity S8 (Model: S80UD), which comes with a substantial 37-inch display designed to enhance immersion and facilitate smoother content creation. This model offers approximately 34% more screen area than its predecessor, while maintaining a crisp 4K resolution for detailed visuals. Notably, it covers 99% of the sRGB color space, ensuring impressive color reproduction and accuracy.

The ViewFinity S8 is designed with productivity in mind, featuring a built-in KVM switch, an easily adjustable stand, and a 90W USB-C connection for laptop charging. While Samsung has not yet disclosed pricing or availability specifics, it’s common for new products to reach the market shortly after unveiling, suggesting these displays may be available by the end of the month.
