Samsung To Launch Four Foldable Smartphones In Q3 2025, Featuring Its First Tri-Fold Model

Samsung is poised to make a bold comeback this year, emphasizing cutting-edge innovations that will help it regain its competitive edge. The upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event is generating excitement among users, particularly due to the anticipated advancements in artificial intelligence that aim to differentiate Samsung from its main rival, Apple. Among its flagship offerings, the tech giant is also set to redefine the foldable smartphone segment with the reveal of its inaugural tri-fold device. Despite a recent slowdown in foldable market growth, Samsung remains committed to this pioneering product line and plans to launch a total of four foldable devices in 2025.

Samsung’s Ambitious Foldable Lineup for 2025

Recent reports have confirmed that Samsung is indeed on track to introduce its first-ever tri-fold smartphone. A noteworthy video report from The Elec, cited by tech enthusiast Jukanlosreve on X, outlines the company’s intention to launch four foldable devices in 2025, which includes the much-anticipated tri-fold model. The devices slated for release include the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip FE, and the new tri-fold foldable model, which is generating substantial buzz among consumers and industry analysts alike.

In addition to the tri-fold, speculation suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may feature a slimmer and more compact design, potentially omitting the integrated S Pen digitizer. This change could necessitate separate charging for the S Pen, prompting users to seek alternatives for their productivity needs. Furthermore, Samsung’s planned budget-conscious foldable, which promises significant enhancements, is also drawing interest, but it is the tri-fold design that truly captivates tech enthusiasts and investors as they await its market debut.

Notably, Huawei previously set the standard in this segment with the release of the Mate XT, the world’s first tri-fold smartphone, last year. Samsung’s advancements in foldable technology may significantly influence the competitive landscape. The new tri-fold device is expected to offer a larger display than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, facilitated by an innovative dual-hinge design. When fully opened, the display is projected to measure between 9.9 and 10 inches, marking a significant upgrade from the dimensions of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Set for launch in the third quarter of 2025 alongside Samsung’s other foldable devices, the tri-fold is anticipated to have a conservative production target of around 200,000 units for its inaugural run. This cautious strategy may reflect Samsung’s desire to gauge market response before committing to larger-scale manufacturing. Regardless, the tri-fold smartphone represents an exciting evolution in Samsung’s foldable line, revitalizing the market and solidifying the company’s position as a leader in foldable technology.
