In addition to the more affordable display-free option, Samsung is collaborating with Google on a display-equipped augmented reality (AR) model. According to Seoul Economic Daily, this advanced device will use micro-LED screens—similar to those found in Apple’s Vision Pro—focusing on delivering superior visual experiences. This partnership suggests that Samsung is setting its sights on competing directly with high-end devices like Apple’s Vision Pro and Meta’s premium Quest headsets, with Google potentially spearheading the software development aspect.

The displayless glasses are not only set to rival Apple’s forthcoming smart glasses but will also enter the competitive landscape occupied by Meta’s stylish Ray-Ban smart glasses, expected to launch later this year. Samsung’s offering promises to include built-in microphones for audio capture, voice command functionalities, and camera features for video recording and AI-driven object recognition. A key advantage of a display-free design is that it will likely yield longer battery life and a lighter, more streamlined experience compared to existing products on the market.
