Samsung Resumes Global Rollout of One UI 7 Update After Brief Pause, Bringing Excitement to Users Worldwide

Samsung has adopted a distinctive strategy in rolling out its One UI 7 update, prioritizing user experience despite encountering some technical hurdles. After an extensive testing phase comprising six beta versions, the full-scale deployment of One UI 7, which is based on Android 15, commenced on April 7, 2025. The rollout initially targeted the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold, and Z Flip 6, with plans to expand to other devices shortly thereafter. However, the discovery of a critical bug led to a suspension of the release, leaving many users frustrated by the delay. Fortunately, Samsung has announced the resumption of the One UI 7 rollout, alleviating concerns for its users.

Resumption of One UI 7 Rollout after Critical Bug Fix

Following the identification of a critical bug, Samsung had to temporarily halt the global rollout of its One UI 7 update. Thankfully, the company has now resumed distribution, bringing the update based on Android 15 back to users, including those within the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold, and Z Flip 6. According to reports from Android Authority, the update is now being delivered widely, with T-Mobile customers in the U. S.also receiving it.

The One UI 7 update is designed to introduce significant upgrades over its predecessors, emphasizing new artificial intelligence capabilities, improved animations, and enhanced privacy controls. Samsung aims to provide a more fluid and responsive user experience. While the initial rollout began in early April, it was quickly interrupted after numerous complaints surfaced from users in South Korea who reported difficulties in unlocking their devices following the update installation.

Although Samsung has not publicly clarified the reason for the pause, the company did communicate its decision to postpone the rollout in order to ensure a more favorable user experience. With the critical bug addressed, Samsung is now aggressively resuming the rollout and swiftly extending the update to major carriers and regions worldwide.

The distribution of One UI 7 based on Android 15 has been relatively slow, particularly compared to the timeline established by Google, which provided developers access to Android 15 as early as September 2024. Samsung opted for a more measured approach, fine-tuning the update to better integrate with its ecosystem. While the latest Galaxy S25 lineup and Galaxy A series phones debuted with One UI 7 pre-installed, earlier flagship models are now receiving the long-awaited update. Upcoming recipients include the Galaxy S23 series, S24 FE, S23 FE, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S10, and Tab S9 series, all of which will benefit from the new features offered by this update.
