Cost-Effective Design Choices for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE

One major aspect of Samsung’s approach involves equipping the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE with 8GB of RAM, making it the least powerful choice in the current lineup of foldable devices. A pertinent question arises: why is Samsung opting for the Exynos 2400 instead of the newly introduced Exynos 2500 for this model? Despite the Exynos 2500 entering mass production in February of this year, it appears reserved exclusively for the higher-end Galaxy Z Flip 7, while the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite will likely be showcased in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This strategic decision not only enhances the allure of the premium models but also aids in managing overall chipset expenditures for the company.

The details from the Geekbench 6 benchmark reveal that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, denoted by model number SM-F761N, is powered by the Exynos 2400. This configuration features a 10-core CPU cluster arranged in a ‘1 + 2 + 3 + 4’ pattern, achieving impressive scores of 1, 930 in single-core and 6, 276 in multi-core tests. By opting for an older chipset, Samsung signals a desire to keep the pricing of this foldable more accessible. However, this decision comes at a cost; the modest memory allocation of 8GB reflects the aim of reducing overall expenses.
