Samsung overtakes Google to top the ranking of the world’s best brands

According to a report by YouGov, a UK-based international internet data and market research firm, Samsung Electronics ranks first in the list of the world’s best brands.

The South Korean company managed to dethrone Google and earn recognition as the world’s best brand in 2022. It previously ranked second in the world’s top brands behind Google and fourth in 2020.

The YouGov Global Best Brand Rankings 2022 report was based on scores taken from the YouGov BrandIndex . It is a measure of the overall health of a brand and is calculated by averaging the following factors:

• Impression
• Qualitative
• Satisfaction
• Reputation
• Value

Among a list of 380 brands in 38 markets including the US, UK, China, India and South Korea, Samsung scored 127 points to top the list.

Notably, the report shows Samsung topping the rankings in countries such as Ireland, South Korea, the Netherlands, and Vietnam, and falling to second place in France, Pakistan, the Philippines, and the UK.

Apart from Samsung and Google, YouTube, a product of Google, scored 85 in third place, with Netflix trailing it with 59 points.
