Samsung is revolutionizing display technology with its innovative Micro RGB technology, featuring exceptionally small LEDs that enhance contrast and produce superior image clarity coupled with rich color reproduction.

Samsung Unveils 115-inch TV Equipped with Groundbreaking Micro RGB Display

The prominent electronics manufacturer, Samsung, has taken center stage by showcasing its premium 115-inch television, which integrates the groundbreaking Micro RGB technology. This advancement utilizes LEDs smaller than 100 micrometers, offering remarkable improvements in visual quality through enhanced contrast ratios and color precision. The Micro RGB system features a finely-tuned arrangement of red, green, and blue LEDs in a dense grid positioned behind an LCD panel, marking a significant evolution in display technology.

“Micro RGB achieves unprecedented precision in the control of micrometer-sized RGB LEDs, raising the bar for color accuracy and contrast in consumer displays. With this launch, we’re setting the standard in the large-sized, ultra-premium TV market and reinforcing our commitment to next-generation display innovation.”

In comparison to traditional mini LEDs, which generally range from 100 to 200 micrometers, the Micro RGB technology allows for individual LED control, leading to finer detail and greater accuracy in HDR imaging. This level of precision not only allows for improved local dimming but enables the technology to rival OLED displays, which excel with their per-pixel control capabilities.

Samsung’s Micro RGB technology is reported to achieve an extensive color range, reaching approximately 100% of the BT.2020 standard, and offers enhanced contrast for deeper blacks. Additionally, it claims a 20% improvement in energy efficiency when compared to traditional Mini-LED displays. The Micro RGB technology has also achieved recognition with the Micro RGB Precision Color certification from the esteemed German certification body, VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik).

To enhance the user experience, the Micro RGB will be supported by a dedicated AI engine that analyzes each frame in real-time for optimum color and audio adjustments. Another attractive feature, known as the Micro RGB Color Booster Pro, will enrich the colors of dull visuals for a more vibrant presentation. Furthermore, security enhancements will be provided through Samsung Knox, while the television will benefit from the Samsung 7-year Tizen OS Upgrade program, ensuring users receive ongoing software improvements.

The Samsung Micro RGB television has officially debuted in South Korea, with plans for release in the United States and subsequent global distribution targeting high-end TV markets.
