A recent meeting between a Samsung semiconductor executive and representatives from SpaceX has generated buzz, with reports suggesting the discussion focused on advancing a new Exynos SoC designed to interact with low-orbit satellites efficiently.

Industry analysts speculate that Samsung aims to penetrate the supply chain being constructed by SpaceX using an Exynos chipset equipped with an integrated NPU in its 5G modem. Current System on Chips (SoCs) struggle to interact directly with approximately 10, 000 low-orbit satellites, which are pivotal for facilitating fast communication with terminals, particularly smartphones.

This innovative modem is expected not only to enhance AI capabilities, forecasting satellite movements and monitoring beam statuses in real time but also to optimize signal strength. However, specifics about this Exynos chipset remain scarce, especially regarding its designation as the Exynos 2600.
