Revealed at the “K-Tech Showcase”on October 28 in Gyeongju, South Korea, this lineup presentation took place alongside the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit. The device, as reported by the Korea Economic Daily, measures approximately 12mm to 15mm when folded, an impressive feat for a smartphone of this caliber.

For context, the only other major competitor in this space, the Huawei Mate XT, maintains a thickness of around 12.8mm when folded. Interestingly, both models are rumored to utilize silicon-carbon (Si/C) batteries, which support their sleek designs while providing enhanced capacity. The anode in Si/C batteries accommodates up to ten times more lithium ions compared to traditional lithium-ion variants, significantly boosting overall battery performance.

Unique Design and Advanced Battery Technology

The Galaxy Z TriFold sets itself apart from the Mate XT by featuring a U-shaped folding mechanism specifically designed to protect the screen. Unlike some foldable models that merge the inner and outer displays, this design ensures that the outer display remains separate from the internal screen when fully extended.

Recent advancements in battery technology indicate that the Galaxy Z TriFold is fitted with:

  1. Three batteries, together exceeding a capacity of 5, 000mAh.
  2. A state-of-the-art 200-megapixel primary camera capable of 100x zoom.
  3. The powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.
  4. A robust titanium shell for added durability.

It remains to be confirmed whether the Galaxy Z TriFold indeed incorporates Si/C technology, but with its expected launch within this year—as reported by Sammobile—speculation surrounding its innovative features continues to grow. As we await further details, the prospect of a high-tech device featuring silicon-carbon batteries presents an exciting development in the smartphone market.
