This reported increase comes on the heels of an official notice from one authorized Samsung distributor, which has expressed that price adjustments for all Samsung memory products will take effect immediately.
While the veracity of these price hikes has yet to be independently verified, insights suggest that a certain employee from DS Giheung—Samsung Electronics’ Device Solutions Campus based in Giheung, South Korea—has emerged as the source of this information.
Interestingly, Samsung has indicated plans to modestly boost its DRAM production by only 5% this year, despite increasing demands and persistent supply chain challenges that are affecting the market.
In addition to DRAM, other memory products are also facing supply constraints, which could exacerbate the situation further.
According to TrendForce, projections reveal that the overall output value of the memory industry is anticipated to reach $551.6 billion by 2026, with expectations to soar to an impressive $842.7 billion in 2027—a staggering year-over-year growth rate exceeding 53%.Such projections hint at a ripe environment for potential price gouging as demand continues to outpace supply in the upcoming months.
