This impressive venture not only underscores their collaboration in AI technologies but also expands their joint efforts across various domains, including HBM4 memory systems, electronic design automation (EDA) tools, and AI-enabled radio access networks (AI-RAN).
Samsung’s Ambitious AI Megafactory Featuring 50, 000 NVIDIA GPUs
Samsung is embarking on an innovative project that will see the deployment of 50, 000 NVIDIA GPUs in its latest AI megafactory. As stated by a company spokesperson:
“By deploying more than 50, 000 NVIDIA GPUs, AI will be embedded throughout Samsung’s entire manufacturing flow, accelerating development and production of next-generation semiconductors, mobile devices, and robotics.”
Through this cutting-edge factory, Samsung aims to streamline its complex manufacturing processes into a cohesive intelligent network, utilizing AI technologies to analyze and optimize production conditions in real-time continuously.
Looking ahead, Samsung envisions scaling its AI capabilities by adopting NVIDIA’s advanced computing technologies and leveraging digital twin manufacturing through the utilization of NVIDIA Omniverse libraries. For context, the Omniverse platform facilitates the creation of real-time 3D applications, which will be crucial for the development of digital twins—a virtual representation of physical processes that allows for ongoing monitoring and analysis.
Samsung will employ digital twins to enhance visibility over its fabrication operations, utilizing these virtual environments to detect anomalies, conduct predictive maintenance, and fine-tune operations prior to actual implementation in the manufacturing floor.
As part of its long-term strategy, Samsung plans to broaden its AI factory initiatives to its global manufacturing sites, including the recently established facility in Taylor, Texas.

- They are jointly developing HBM4 technology, which utilizes Samsung’s sixth-generation 10nm-class DRAM alongside a 4nm logic base die, achieving speeds of up to 11Gbps.
