As Stranger Things approaches its conclusion with the upcoming fifth season, emotions are running high, particularly for Sadie Sink, who portrays Max. Since its inception on Netflix in 2017, the series, crafted by creators Matt and Ross Duffer, has garnered immense popularity, accumulating an impressive 52 billion viewing minutes in 2023 alone. However, like all cherished series, the time has come for Stranger Things to conclude.
Filming for the final season wrapped on December 20, 2024, and fans can anticipate its release in late 2025. Although this signifies the end of an era, dedicated viewers can look forward to exciting spinoffs that will continue to expand the Stranger Things universe—albeit with some cast changes. For instance, Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, isn’t expected to be the centerpiece of these upcoming stories, paving the way for new talent to emerge within this beloved franchise.
Sadie Sink on Cherished Keepsakes from the Set

During an emotional interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Sadie Sink opened up about her feelings regarding the series conclusion. She revealed the emotional toll the farewell has taken on her, sharing that she has taken several personal items from the set to help keep memories alive. Among these mementos are Max’s signature skateboard and Walkmans, the latter of which were essential for listening to her favorite Kate Bush tracks.
Sink stated, “I took a lot—just the essentials. I really needed Max’s skateboard, which was a gift to me. I also have some Walkmans, Kate Bush cassettes, and every pair of shoes that she (Max) wore.”This collection highlights the attachment she feels to her character and the journey they shared throughout the years.

She humorously reflected on how her collection has become so vast that her real-life home nearly resembled a shrine dedicated to Max. Having joined the cast at the age of 13, it seems only fitting for her to hold on to these artifacts that have accompanied her throughout her formative years. Other cast members, including Finn Wolfhard as Mike and Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, have similarly voiced their emotional struggles with the series wrapping up. While Season 5 is set to be released at some point this year, the Duffer brothers have indicated that it might miss its planned 2025 debut.
As of now, fans are left in suspense with no definitive release date in sight. Nonetheless, they can stay hopeful that Stranger Things Season 5 will arrive on Netflix at some point in 2025.
