“Sad He’s Gone” — Love Island Australia Fans Share Reactions to Kane’s Elimination

The much-anticipated Season 6 of Love Island Australia debuted on Thursday, October 28, 2024. Eager singles stepped into the villa, looking to find their perfect match among the islanders. Following initial introductions, the contestants began to socialize and develop relationships. By episode 3, the reality series witnessed its first elimination, as Kane, who was partnered with Xanthe, was sent home.

Despite showcasing considerable chemistry, the couple faced challenges after host Sophie Monk introduced a new competition. With the arrival of bombshell contestant Taylor, Eilisha was taken from Dylan, leaving him facing elimination unless he could persuade another girl to couple with him.

While Dylan made a bid to win over Mimi, Zane’s charm caught Xanthe’s eye, leaving Kane feeling insecure. In a shocking twist during the episode, Sophie revealed that all male islanders were at risk of elimination, except for Taylor. Each of the women had to decide whether to remain with their current partners or take the opportunity to switch things up. Ultimately, Mimi chose Dylan, while Xanthe opted for Zane, thus ending Kane’s adventure in the villa.

Fans of Love Island Australia quickly took to X to voice their reactions to Kane’s departure. Many expressed disappointment, criticizing Xanthe for her choice to partner with Zane.

“Kane seems so sweet and wholesome; I’m heartbroken he’s gone,”one fan lamented.

“Aw, Kane is such a cutie; I wish Indigo had left instead,”another user expressed.

“Kane was the standout guy this season, but it seems good guys aren’t appreciated,”a netizen tweeted.

Numerous Love Island Australia viewers were particularly critical of Xanthe for her decision to team up with Zane, fearing he would end up breaking her heart.

“Looks like my girl Xanthe will learn the hard way. Choosing Zane is a mistake; I fear he will hurt her,”a user reacted.

“I like Xanthe, but I don’t think picking Zane was wise,”one viewer commented.

“Honestly, Indigo should have been sent home instead. He’s so dull. I have a strange feeling Xanthe will regret her choice,”another fan expressed.

The audience was disheartened by Kane’s elimination, believing others deserved to be the first departures from the villa.

“It’s painful to see Kane dumped this early; hopefully, he can join Casa Amor!”one user wrote.

“So sad to see #KaneGodlevsky go; but he’s bound to enjoy life after the show,”another user remarked.

“WE DEMAND JUSTICE FOR KANEEEEEN! My poor babe, Indigo should have left instead,”a fan lamented.

Conflict in Xanthe’s Choice: Kane vs. Zane

The Stick or Twist challenge introduced by Sophie Monk left the islanders reeling. Each female contestant faced a tough dilemma: stick to their current partners or twist and partner with someone new. Any girl who ended up without a partner at the end would be eliminated from the villa.

After Mimi decided to pair with Dylan, Zane was left without a partner, and Xanthe contemplated the possibility of coupling with him. Expressing her inner turmoil, she shared that making this decision was “challenging”as she felt a strong connection with both Zane and Kane. Ultimately, she decided to trust her feelings, resulting in her pairing with Zane and leaving Kane without a partner. This caused Kane to break down upon hearing her choice.

Kane and Indigo were the final two contestants during the recoupling ceremony. After Em chose to stick with her partner, Indigo, Kane was ultimately eliminated. Before his departure, he confided in Indigo about his fears regarding relationships and how this moment echoed his previous experiences.

He reassured Xanthe not to worry about her decision and shared a heartfelt goodbye. Speaking to the cameras, Xanthe expressed:

“I’m heartbroken that he’s leaving, and I feel even worse knowing it was because of my choice.”

While Kane was saddened that he couldn’t find love in the villa, he remained hopeful about discovering it elsewhere.

Love Island Australia airs every Monday through Thursday at 9 PM AEDT on 9Now.
