Ryan Reynolds recently reacted to comments made by Martha Stewart during her appearance on Bilt Rewards’ November Rent Free game show, where she referred to the actor as “not funny in real life.”
In response to a post on X (formerly Twitter) dated November 2, 2024, Reynolds playfully contested Stewart’s assertion, describing her as “spry.” He humorously remarked:
“I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.”
The conversation was sparked when Bilt CEO Ankur Jain posed a question to Martha regarding which celebrities she would enjoy spending time with. While she first mentioned Snoop Dogg, she also included Ryan Reynolds, stating he would likely be a fan-favorite. However, she went on to critique his comedic persona, saying:
“He’s probably on the list just ‘cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face. Do you want to know something? He’s not so funny in real life. No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.”
In addition to Reynolds, Martha Stewart mentioned Taylor Swift, noting her as “just lovely.”
Martha Stewart’s Take on Ryan Reynolds: “He Can Act Funny”
“He’s a good actor. He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again. I’m going to get in trouble. He’s my neighbour.”
Stewart further elaborated that, given the choice, she would prefer to spend time with Brad Pitt and George Clooney, emphasizing Clooney’s enjoyable company:
“Then I would take Ryan off it, and I would put in somebody else. George Clooney, ‘cause he’s fun. George is really nice to hang out with.”
Stewart’s presence on the game show was not solely for humorous banter; she was promoting her latest book, Martha: The Cookbook: 100 Favourite Recipes with Lessons and Stories from My Kitchen, which was released on October 22, 2024. Additionally, she discussed her new documentary that premiered in October 2024.
Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds is basking in the triumph of his recent film, Deadpool & Wolverine, which debuted a few months ago. He is also preparing for the launch of several upcoming projects, including Animal Friends, Boy Band, Mayday, Society of Explorers and Adventures, and Dragon’s Lair.
