On October 1, Episode 8 of BTS’ Jin’s RUN JIN series premiered on BANGTAN TV’s YouTube channel. This latest installment, titled ‘Find Jin,’ showcased BTS’ Jin alongside South Korean comedian and television personality Jee Seok-jin, who also featured in the previous episode of RUN JIN.

In this new episode, the two stars participated in a name-tag race, along with additional entertaining challenges such as shoe throwing and bottle flipping. The impressive scale of RUN JIN Episode 8 truly amazed Kim Seokjin, also known as Jin, and Jee Seok-jin, as it utilized more cameras than any prior episode in the series.

Recap and Highlights of RUN JIN Episode 8: BTS’ Jin and Jee Seok-jin Compete for 5 Name Tags

Episode 8 of RUN JIN commenced with a warm welcome for Kim Seokjin and Jee Seok-jin. Unlike the last installment, this episode emphasized more physical activity for both contestants as they geared up for the name-tag race.

In this challenge, the participants aimed to identify the most real Seokjins among approximately 50 NPCs (non-player characters), each displaying name tags on their backs. Both players were required to chase these NPCs to locate their respective name tags: Kim Seokjin and Jee Seok-jin.

A twist in the game meant that encountering an ‘it’ card would allow three ‘it’ members to tag them, leading to imprisonment, where they would face various challenges.

At the game’s onset, contestants picked envelopes as a gamble. Jin was fortunate, selecting the envelope marked with number 10, which indicated he needed to find 5 out of 10 people to win first place.

Conversely, Jee Seok-jin needed to locate all five of his name tags to secure victory.

Upon hearing the rules, Jee Seok-jin boldly claimed he could effortlessly defeat Jin. Jin responded with a display of his biceps, leading to a playful arm wrestling match that he ultimately won.

The game then commenced with all other Seokjins entering, scattering throughout various floors of the museum building. A memorable moment occurred when Jin asked a member tagged ‘it’ about their profession, to which the amusing reply was, “Just took my first steps yesterday,”surprising both of them.

In the first 20-minute round, both players sprinted after the other Seokjins. Kim Seokjin managed to find two name tags with his name and two belonging to Jee Seok-jin, cleverly hiding one of Jee Seok-jin’s tags in a corner. During the frantic gameplay, BTS’ Jin even played rock, paper, scissors with other Seokjins to take them out of the running.

Ultimately, both contestants found themselves imprisoned after acquiring an ‘It’ card. Inside the prison, they drew slips to unveil their next challenges, which lasted three minutes. The first task was ‘Shoe Throw,’ where they needed to throw their shoes into a basket from a distance.

Both Jee Seok-jin and BTS’ Jin participated in this challenge. Jin completed it first, escaping the prison to advance in the race while Jee Seok-jin continued working through his challenges.

While capturing more Seokjins, Jin encountered his first ‘It’ card. Meanwhile, once Jee Seok-jin completed his task, an “It” member tagged him, landing both players back in prison.

This time, they undertook the bottle flip challenge, swiftly completing it. Upon leaving, Jee Seok-jin persuaded BTS’ Jin to collaborate and attack the other Seokjins together, agreeing to swap their name tags as needed. Unbeknownst to Jee Seok-jin, Jin already held two of his tags. Soon after, they finished the first round of the race.

In the initial round, Jee Seok-jin failed to gather any of his tags, whereas Kim Seokjin found two for each. To assess their progress, the participants joined in the lobby for another challenge: the blow-the-ball game, which Jee Seok-jin won, granting him a chance card.

With the second round beginning, Jin attempted to lure other Seokjins by offering 100,000 KRW. One Seokjin accepted, only to be caught by Jee Seok-jin, who successfully located Kim Seokjin’s name tag. Jin then suggested they swap a hidden tag of Jee Seok-jin’s found earlier in the game. They both agreed to this exchange.

Subsequently, Jee Seok-jin opted to utilize his chance card, which halted other Seokjins with his name tags for 20 seconds. He ascended to the second floor, leveraging his card effectively and locating two tags.

On the other hand, Kim Seokjin took advantage of the situation by reclaiming the hidden tags. Feeling fatigued, Jin resorted to power walking to continue his chase, ultimately discovering another tag with his name. He then traded one Jee Seok-jin tag for his own, bringing his total to 4 tags while Jee Seok-jin had 3.

As they approached the final ten minutes of the round, BTS’ Jin successfully secured his fifth tag after several attempts.

Having secured victory, Jin geared up to head home. Jee Seok-jin, after losing the name tag race, was assigned the Squid Game-style Dalgona coffee challenge to complete. Before departure, Jin snapped a few selfies with Jee Seok-jin.

At the conclusion of RUN JIN Episode 8, Kim Seokjin was seen giving his autograph to another Seokjin, whom he had promised 100,000 KRW for his tag.

The next episode of BTS’ Jin’s RUN JIN is set to premiere on Tuesday, October 8, on the BANGTAN TV YouTube channel.
