Rumored Capture Button shows up in alleged iPhone 16 Pro CAD renders
In its iPhone 15 Pro models, Apple has replaced the traditional Ring/Silent switch with a new Action button, introducing a variety of new features and shortcuts for users. However, speculations suggest that the tech giant is currently developing another button to be included in their flagship iPhones.
According to the most recent update, 91Mobiles has released CAD renders that show the possible inclusion of a Capture Button on the right side of the device, below the Power Button. The alleged design also reveals a larger Action button than the ones found on iPhone 15 Pro models.
The Capture Button is anticipated to offer added functionalities, including the ability to adjust zoom levels and focus, in addition to serving as a dedicated shutter button for capturing both photos and videos. If it is included on the iPhone, it is expected to enhance the overall camera user experience. However, it is also possible to customize the Action button to function with the Camera app.
The iPhone 16 Pro is rumored to have a camera bump containing camera sensors, a microphone, a flash, and a LiDAR module, with a design language that was first seen on the iPhone 11 Pro models. Additionally, it is expected to include a tetraprism telephoto camera, similar to the one found on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The launch of the iPhone 16 series is expected to take place in the second half of 2024, potentially featuring larger batteries in select models. This will mark the second year since Apple introduced a pill-shaped camera cutout, replacing the previous notch design. However, the possibility of a completely full-screen iPhone still remains unlikely.
Multiple sources have suggested that the upcoming iPhone models, the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, will feature the largest screen sizes to date, measuring 6.3 and 6.9 inches respectively. To put this into perspective, the current flagship models, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, have screens that measure 6.1 and 6.7 inches.
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is anticipated to display its advancements in AI later this year. In addition, Kuo stated in a survey that the iPhone manufacturer will also enhance the microphone hardware to enhance the Siri performance on the iPhone 16 series.
The source for the exclusive CAD renders of the iPhone 16 Pro can be attributed to 91Mobiles, with the accompanying image also being provided by them.
