In a recent exchange on X, NateTheHate addressed inquiries about these projects. He indicated that while both the Final Fantasy IX remake and the Tactics remaster are under development, consumers should not expect them to release in 2025. Nate explicitly remarked that although there have been no updates suggesting a launch within the year, this does not definitively rule out a 2025 release.
Both remain in active development. FFIXR isn’t expected to see release in 2025. Maybe we’ll see it launch in 2026.

NateTheHate also clarified that just because there hasn’t been recent communication about the remake doesn’t mean it won’t arrive this year. He simply lacks a confirmed release timeline as of now.
