ASUS, MSI, and Lenovo are gearing up to launch their latest gaming laptops featuring the highly anticipated GeForce RTX 5050. These upcoming models have recently been identified across various platforms, including retailers like Newegg, the ASUS Store, and Kiebel.
Speculations Surrounding GeForce RTX 5050: Cores, VRAM, and More
Recent leaks regarding the GeForce RTX 5050 indicate that the graphics card will be equipped with 2, 560 CUDA cores, 80 Tensor Cores, and 20 Ray Tracing cores. However, there is some confusion regarding the type of VRAM this model will utilize. While many sources initially claimed that the desktop variant would feature GDDR6, recent reports have suggested a possible transition to GDDR7. Additionally, although most leaks regarding the laptop variant favor GDDR7, there are conflicting indications of both GDDR6 and GDDR7 being used.
This inconsistency raises questions about whether these discrepancies stem from inaccurate information or the existence of multiple GPU variants. It may appear that NVIDIA is still finalizing its decisions, yet the active listings for RTX 5050 laptops indicate that the specifications are likely locked in.
