Rosé Claims BLACKPINK Surpasses boygenius but Honors the Legendary Spice Girls

Rosé’s Revealing Lie Detector Interview with Vanity Fair

Currently enjoying immense success with the popular track “APT,” Rosé of BLACKPINK recently participated in an eye-catching interview with Vanity Fair. During the session, she bravely faced the magazine’s notorious lie detector test, guided by expert Judd, showcasing both her nerves and charm.

Insights and Challenges During the Test

The polygraph session kick-started with straightforward inquiries, including Rosé’s name and her association with BLACKPINK. However, it quickly evolved into more light-hearted yet revealing questions, such as her childhood aspiration to become an art teacher and the occasional lapse in remembering song lyrics during performances—most notably the track “As If It’s Your Last,”which Rosé humorously noted could confuse even her bandmates.

As the interview progressed, Judd shifted to more provocative topics, asking Rosé to compare BLACKPINK to other prominent girl groups. When shown a photo of the iconic Spice Girls and prompted to choose “the best girl band,” Rosé hesitated, noting, “That’s a hard question, that’s mean. The Spice Girls are fire, but since I am part of BLACKPINK, can I say BLACKPINK?”

However, Judd quickly countered her statement, revealing through the polygraph that her answer was not entirely truthful. Rosé quickly clarified, “No but BLACKPINK is the best! But the Spice Girls, they’re legendary,” demonstrating her deep respect for both groups.

A Lighthearted Choice

If that wasn’t enough to spark a discussion, Judd continued by pitting BLACKPINK against other notable girl bands, including Lindsay Lohan’s group from the film Freaky Friday and the talented trio boygenius, consisting of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker.

Despite her admiration for the movie “Freaky Friday,” Rosé confidently expressed her loyalty to BLACKPINK, to which Judd confirmed, “Yes!” The singer amusingly remarked, “[We’re] not better than the Spice Girls, apparently,” eliciting laughter.

Personal Connections and Idolization

As the interview delved into her personal encounters, the conversation shifted to her meeting with producer Benny Blanco, who had tweeted about interacting with BLACKPINK. “Last night I met my idols,” Blanco tweeted alongside a memorable photograph. The interviewer sought to ascertain if Blanco resonated with Rosé as one of her idols.

Rosé thoughtfully responded, “Idols? Yes,” though she took a moment to think about her answer. Judd, however, playfully contradicted her statement, prompting a nervous chuckle and playful facepalm from Rosé. “But idol is a big word! He’s a really nice guy. We love him and he’s very talented. Love you Benny,” she asserted, ultimately validating Judd’s claim with a smile.
