Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption with Undead Nightmare Now Released for PC

PC gamers who are fans of Rockstar can finally immerse themselves in one of the studio’s most acclaimed titles: Red Dead Redemption. The need for emulators is over, as this highly anticipated Western experience has officially launched on PC, following a surprise reveal just a month ago, thereby completing the franchise’s availability on this platform. Check out the launch trailer above.

Initially launched in 2010 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Red Dead Redemption has remained absent from PC despite several re-releases. This new version has been developed by Double Eleven and brings exciting enhancements tailored for the PC experience:

The PC version of Red Dead Redemption incorporates the latest features from the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 editions. Players can expect native 4K resolution at up to 144hz on compatible systems, support for Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9) monitors, HDR10 capabilities, adjustable draw distances, improved shadow quality options, and additional settings.

Moreover, the game supports Nvidia DLSS 3.7 (including frame generation) as well as FSR 3.0 upscaling technologies, ensuring an enhanced visual experience. Full keyboard and mouse compatibility is also included.

For those who may not be familiar with the storyline, the game follows John Marston, a former outlaw on a mission to apprehend three of his former gang members. Notably, Red Dead Redemption 2, released in 2018, serves as a prequel to this narrative, allowing players who completed the sequel to easily transition into this title.

When you purchase Red Dead Redemption for PC, you also receive the story expansion Undead Nightmare. This compelling addition introduces a zombie-themed twist through a distinct single-player adventure where Marston battles swarms of the undead in an alternate reality as he seeks a cure for a plague.

Red Dead Redemption is now available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, priced at $49.99.
