Rockstar Insider Reveals Potential Delay in GTA 6 Announcement

Rockstar Insider Reveals Potential Delay in GTA 6 Announcement

On November 8, 2023, Rockstar Games made the official announcement regarding the release of the first trailer for GTA 6. Prior to this, renowned video game journalist Jason Schreier had hinted at the imminent trailer news a few hours earlier. Now, another prominent figure within the Grand Theft Auto community, known as Tez2, has stated that Rockstar’s President, Sam Houser, considered postponing the trailer announcement “just to annoy Schreier,” but was convinced otherwise by other company executives.

“There are notable executives such as Aaron Garbut, Rob Nelson, and Jennifer Kolbe who help steer decision-making and sometimes keep him in check. I remember he wanted to delay the November announcement by a week just to annoy Schreier, but others talked him out of it.”

This insider information was shared during a conversation on GTAForums.

In a thread on GTAForums, a user named “I WAS WRONG”mentioned that GTA 6 might be the first game to feature Sam Houser’s vision without checks, considering that other major figures like Leslie Benzies and Dan Houser have left Rockstar Games. In response, Tez2 pointed out that there are still other influential figures within the company who help moderate his decisions.

Tez2 further asserted that Sam Houser wanted to “postpone”the GTA 6 trailer announcement initially set for November 2023 by one week, as indicated in the image featured above.

For those not in the loop, just hours before Rockstar’s formal announcement of the GTA 6 trailer last year, Jason Schreier had forewarned about potential news coming soon.

His predictions turned out to be accurate when Rockstar subsequently revealed the GTA 6 trailer, coinciding with a Take-Two Interactive earnings call that day.

Despite Tez2’s assertions that Sam Houser wished to delay the announcement, it’s important to note that while Tez2 has established credibility reporting GTA-related information before official disclosures, this specific claim should be approached with caution, as verification remains elusive.
