Rhea Ripley confirms injury ahead of WrestleMania

This weekend at WrestleMania XL, Rhea Ripley will go head to head with Becky Lynch. Prior to the event, she revealed that she had sustained an injury to her wrist.

Ripley clarified during an appearance on The MMA Hour that her injury was simply due to wear and tear. She acknowledged that she had been using support for the past 10 days in order to continue competing in wrestling. The reigning WWE Women’s World Champion also revealed that the injury had been nagging her for a couple of months, but she was able to push through with the help of the support she was wearing.

“It’s my wrist it’s been bothering me for a while but it’s okay, it’s nothing I can’t handle, to be honest in this line of work there’s always little bits and things going on so I’m just fighting through it,”she said.

Despite rumors circulating about Ripley’s injury in the past few weeks, she has made it clear that she will not let it affect her performance at WrestleMania XL. With the biggest show of the year just five days away, she has already competed in multiple live event matches, with the support on her wrist.

Rhea Ripley’s Dominant Reign as Women’s World Champion

Since her victory over Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39, Rhea Ripley has successfully defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship against every challenger in the past year.

During that time, The Eradicator witnessed the re-branding of the SmackDown Women’s Championship to the Women’s World Championship. She successfully defended her title against all challengers, setting her up for a showdown against Becky Lynch at The Show of Shows later this week. Rhea Ripley’s most recent match took place at Elimination Chamber 2024, where she main evented against Nia Jax.

Despite being celebrated as the hometown hero in Australia, Rhea Ripley’s absence from RAW for over a month has sparked rumors of her injury. Meanwhile, Becky Lynch has been actively wrestling and preparing for her highly anticipated WrestleMania match against Ripley.
