The newly launched horror-survival game, Silent Hill 2, challenges players with an array of puzzles needed for progression. Among these is a specific task at Jack’s Inn Motel, where you’ll need a safe code to retrieve the gate key. This requires solving an intriguing puzzle.
One of the significant differences between the remake and the original 2001 version is the added complexity of the gameplay. In the past, the motel merely functioned as a checkpoint, but in this updated edition, players must decipher a code to unlock the safe and access the gate.
Finding the Safe Code in Silent Hill 2
It’s important to note that the safe code at the motel is randomly generated, unlike the padlock code found in Brookhaven Hospital, which means different players will encounter different codes. Nevertheless, cracking this code is straightforward; it simply requires understanding the underlying formula.
In addition, Jack’s Inn is home to several hidden Easter eggs. For now, though, let’s focus on retrieving the safe code. As you enter the motel with Maria, navigate to room 107. You’ll need to access room 108 through the window, then break through the connecting wall to the left to enter room 107. Within, you will discover a toolbox memo that contains the crucial puzzle.
Take a moment to read the memo thoroughly; it will outline the necessary components of the equation in uppercase letters. The memo details operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division, which will lead you to the four-digit safe code. Once you decipher the puzzle and have the code, input it to unlock the safe and obtain the gate key, enabling you to move forward in the game.
