As anticipation builds for the launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on the PC, the development team at Nixxes provided crucial information just one day before the game becomes available on platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store. Among the announced features are support for ultrawide display resolutions, raytracing, and various upscaling technologies aimed at enhancing visual fidelity and performance.
This title, which made its debut on the PS5 in October 2023, is the highly praised sequel to the original Marvel’s Spider-Man and serves as a direct continuation of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. All entries in this franchise have been developed by Insomniac Games, while Nixxes has played a vital role in adapting these games for PC. Previously, Nixxes has successfully ported other beloved PlayStation titles, including Horizon Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima. Despite the announcement of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s transition to PC over a year after its PS5 release, a lack of updates left some fans expressing their apprehensions about the project.
In response to these worries, Nixxes shared extensive details regarding the game ahead of its PC launch, confirmed for January 30. In a recent PlayStation Blog post, the developer outlined exciting PC capabilities. Notably, high-end PCs can harness Nvidia’s DLSS Ray Reconstruction to boost raytracing quality through supported graphics cards, especially in the RTX 40 and 50 series. Additionally, the game will incorporate AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) and Intel’s Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) to optimize performance on compatible hardware.
