Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Update: Ranked Matches to Resume

On July 1, 2025, Bandai Namco revealed that several bugs were affecting Ranked Matches in the popular game, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. In response, Spike Chunsoft announced a maintenance period aimed at addressing these issues. Recently, the company updated fans through social media, confirming that Ranked Matches will officially return on July 10, 2025.

Players should be aware that a maintenance window will precede the return of Ranked Matches, lasting approximately three hours during which all online features will be temporarily unavailable. This crucial update promises to correct the three significant issues that players faced when commencing the month of July.

Issues Affecting Players

The bugs encountered in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s Ranked Matches led to unfair ranking systems and rewards. For instance, players who experienced a setback, such as losing a match, were still credited with win streak bonuses. This anomaly allowed their Season 0 streaks to carry over into the current season, unjustly influencing player standings.

Additionally, individuals who were demoted following Season 0 unexpectedly found themselves in Division 5, regardless of their in-season performance. Fortunately, all these discrepancies will be rectified following the upcoming maintenance.

A Fresh Start for Season 1

As a result of these fixes, Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft have decided to restart Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Season 1 from the very beginning. Players who engaged during the flawed ranking period will notice that all their progress for Season 1 has been reset, and they will have to start afresh.

DLC Additions

Before these troubles arose, the game welcomed a new addition with the introduction of the Shallot DLC. This character from Dragon Ball Legends was made available independently, without being bundled within larger content packs, providing players with additional content to explore while waiting for the Ranked Matches to return.

Availability

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is currently accessible to players globally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. As the excitement builds, players look forward to the return of Ranked Matches on July 10, 2025.
