Retro Medieval Vampiric “Boomer-Slasher” Bloodthief Launches on PC Next Month

Get Ready for Bloodthief: A New Era of Fast-Paced Gaming

Bloodthief, a thrilling title that combines elements of parkour and swordplay, is set for release on PC on September 22, 2025. This exciting indie game, developed by newcomer Blargis, bills itself as a “boomer-slasher, ”inviting players to immerse themselves in the role of a vampire wielding a sword, capable of wall-running and parkouring through its medieval landscapes.

A Fast-Paced Adventure Awaiting You

For fans of Ghostrunner who felt the need for even quicker gameplay, Bloodthief could be the ideal solution. The recently unveiled release date trailer offers a dynamic glimpse into the game’s fast action, reinforcing its reputation as a ‘speedrunner’s delight.’

Competing with Established Names

Interestingly, Bloodthief seems poised to outpace the development of Ghostrunner’s creators, One More Level, by embracing a medieval twist on the fast-paced, melee-driven gameplay. While gamers eagerly anticipate Valor Mortis, set to release next year, Bloodthief will be available soon, serving as an exciting alternative for those craving adrenaline-fueled action.

Try It Out Now!

If you’re eager to experience Bloodthief before its official launch, a demo was made available during Steam Next Fest in June 2025. This demo can still be downloaded from the game’s Steam page, offering a taste of the gameplay that is sure to captivate fans of the genre.

Early Impressions of Bloodthief

Having checked out the demo earlier, I remarked,

“Bloodthief is a classic, simple-looking, 2-feet-wide, 10-feet-deep kind of game. If you want to dig into the parkour mechanics and push them to their limits, you’ll find plenty to explore. Even in the opening levels, I discovered alternate paths through smart parkouring by thinking, ‘I can make that jump’ and proving I could, with the right agility. Although the combat differs from Ghostrunner’s one-hit-kill approach, it maintains the intense feeling of needing to navigate carefully, as a few hits can send you back to the last checkpoint. I also enjoy the transition from a vibrant, neon-lit cyberpunk world to a subdued, medieval atmosphere—it makes the dark red blood pop and adds a thrilling dimension as armored knights charge at you.

Stay Tuned for More Updates

As the release date approaches, excitement builds around Bloodthief. This unique blend of mechanics and style promises to offer an exhilarating experience that fans of fast-paced gaming simply cannot miss.
