In a recently released Creator’s Voice video, Game Director Koshi Nakanishi shared insights into the development experience. Initially, there were doubts regarding the capability of the Nintendo Switch 2 to run the game effectively.“We were uncertain whether Requiem could operate on the Switch 2, given its enhanced graphical specifications, ”Nakanishi-san explained.“However, witnessing its performance firsthand was a revelation; we had to do a triple take! It worked so fluidly that we decided to proceed with developing it for the console. The graphics in handheld mode look outstanding.”
GameChat: A Perfect Complement
Beyond performance critiques, Nakanishi-san also highlighted the relevance of GameChat, presenting it as an ideal feature for Resident Evil Requiem. He remarked, “For those who find solo play daunting, inviting a friend to join can enhance the experience and create excitement together. It feels as though GameChat was designed specifically with Resident Evil in mind.”
A Future Classic on Switch 2
There’s considerable anticipation surrounding Resident Evil Requiem, especially since its announcement hinted at its potential as a standout title for the Nintendo Switch 2. While its visuals may not rival those of PC or other console versions, preliminary comparisons suggest that players will still relish the thrill of experiencing the challenges faced by Grace and Leon in this installment.
