Resident Evil Requiem: What’s Next?
Resident Evil Requiem is generating buzz, with 159, 000 players engaging on Steam at the moment of writing. This latest iteration was released just last week, and its success has players eagerly anticipating future enhancements, particularly a potential DLC centered on Leon.
Respected Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem has hinted at upcoming developments. In an extensive discussion on X (formerly known as Twitter), Dusk Golem disclosed exciting information about anticipated content for the franchise.
Per Dusk Golem, the long-rumored Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake is next in line, expected to launch in 2027. Following that, we can anticipate the Resident Evil 0 Remake, with a tentative date set for 2028.
Furthermore, the timeline appears to point towards Resident Evil 10 as the subsequent mainline title, which should arrive sometime post the RE0 remake release. Additionally, a remake of the original Resident Evil is reportedly “now in development, ”as shared by Dusk Golem.
It won’t be after Zero Remake, where Zero Remake started dev 3-4 years ago, RE:1 is just recently entering development, so it’s likely anywhere from 4-7 years out from releasing, presuming it comes out at all since it’s in early development & RE games get scrapped all the time.

While Dusk Golem’s insights are typically well-regarded within the gaming community, it’s prudent to approach such claims with caution, particularly since they often rely on informed speculation.
Focusing on what is slated for release sooner, the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem DLC is reportedly “late in development.”With the game now available, it is logical to assume that any additional content Capcom plans is nearing completion. Historically, with few exceptions, most Resident Evil titles have received post-launch DLC.
(1/5) A lot of people have asked about it, & I have a tiny little bit to say (not a lot, but a bit).So let’s talk about Resident Evil Requiem DLC. I’m fully aware there’s RE9 DLC that’s late in development, though I think that’s hardly surprising. I think since RE5 every RE game

Dusk Golem noted that this DLC will likely spotlight Leon S. Kennedy, one of the main characters in Resident Evil Requiem and a fan favorite in the franchise.
“Previously I mentioned Alyssa, ”Dusk Golem shares, “the reason for that is I’ve heard they have a fully playable version of her rigged up likely not as a playable character in the main game but developed for some DLC content.”He continues, “However, I’ve been hearing more frequently about a potential Leon DLC. While I’m unaware of its exact scope, Nakanishi mentioned there would be additional content to keep players engaged with RE9 long after the main storyline concludes.”
(5/8) Recently I’ve been hearing a few times in the grapevine now there’s likely a Leon DLC. I do not know the scope of RE9’s DLC outside of it existing, but I can take some educated guesses. Nakanishi said there would be stuff to keep people playing RE9 long after the main story

This information presents an intriguing prospect for fans, though maintaining a healthy skepticism is essential. Nonetheless, with the flourishing success of Resident Evil Requiem, it is clear that Capcom will continue to evolve and expand this iconic horror franchise.
As we look ahead, it seems we can expect a continuous stream of captivating zombie gameplay that honors the series’ legacy, even if many upcoming projects revolve around remakes from past eras.
