Ubisoft’s Ambitious Plans: Nine Assassin’s Creed Games in Development
According to a recent report by Tom Henderson published on Insider Gaming, Ubisoft currently has an impressive lineup of nine Assassin’s Creed titles in various stages of development. This revelation reflects the company’s commitment to expanding its iconic franchise.
Confirmed Titles and Their Potential Release Dates
While gaming enthusiasts have been aware of at least four upcoming titles for some time, only two have been officially announced. Among these, Jade, a mobile game set in Ancient China, stands out. Despite a long silence of nearly two years regarding its status, Henderson indicates that Jade could be leading the charge for the next franchise installment.
Additionally, fans have been anticipating Invictus, a multiplayer spin-off reminiscent of Fall Guys. According to Henderson, this title is slated for a 2025 release, with Ubisoft planning to sustain it for at least five years post-launch contingent upon its sales performance.
Exciting Remakes and New Directions
Another highly anticipated title in the pipeline is the remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, referred to by its codename Obsidian. This remake is expected to release around the same window as Invictus, potentially hitting shelves in late 2025 or early 2026.
Moreover, Ubisoft has confirmed the existence of Assassin’s Creed Hexe. Teased during the Ubisoft Forward presentation in September 2022, this title is being crafted by a team at Ubisoft Montréal under the leadership of acclaimed director Clint Hocking. Described as a “very different”experience within the franchise, it is anticipated to release following the conclusion of post-launch support for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, likely around 2027.
The Next Major Open-World RPG and Future Projects
Ubisoft has also begun production on what is termed Scarlet, a major open-world RPG. Observers speculate that this might be tied to the rumored Assassin’s Creed Nebula, which promises to explore three different historical settings: the Aztec Empire, India, and the Mediterranean region.
Upcoming Remakes and Multiplayer Experiences
The future roadmap appears less defined with emerging titles like Stardust, a remake with no disclosed details regarding the original game it will bring back. Additionally, Emerald is rumored to be another multiplayer game positioned for a five-year support plan and is expected to debut around the same time as Stardust.
Lastly, there are cryptic mentions of RPG 3 and Remake 3, both scheduled for release after the expected support period for Scarlet, with the latter anticipated to follow roughly a year after RPG 3. However, specific details remain sparse.
Ubisoft’s Commitment to Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Aside from the exciting developments in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Ubisoft has also officially revealed the year-one roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, emphasizing their dedication to enriching the gaming experience for fans.
The future of the Assassin’s Creed series is bright, filled with innovative concepts and fresh narratives, ensuring that players have plenty to look forward to in the coming years.
