Rematch Update Brings Crossplay Features and In-Game Player Reporting

Significant Updates in Rematch: Crossplay and Player Reporting Features Now Live

After nearly three months since its debut, Sloclap has officially launched much-anticipated updates for their multiplayer football/soccer game, Rematch. The introduction of crossplay and a player reporting system is a part of the game’s third major update, alongside numerous balance adjustments and gameplay fixes to enhance user experience.

Crossplay: A Game-Changer for Matchmaking

The new crossplay feature unites players across multiple platforms, including PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Additionally, subscribers of Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass can now join the same matchmaking pool, ensuring a larger and more diverse player base.

Sloclap has also introduced cross-platform social features, allowing players from different platforms to form parties easily. However, for those who prefer to limit their gameplay to their respective consoles, crossplay can be disabled in the settings. Nevertheless, the developer advises keeping this feature active to decrease waiting times in matchmaking queues, although it appears that cross-platform progression is not part of their immediate roadmap.

Enhanced Security with In-Game Player Reporting

Another pivotal addition is the in-game player reporting option. This feature enables players to report problematic conduct by selecting specific reasons for their reports. These submissions will be routed directly to Sloclap’s servers, empowering them to address serious infractions within the community.

Looking Ahead: Patch 4 and Season 1

Anticipation is building for the next major update, known as Patch 4, which will herald the start of Rematch Season 1. Sloclap has acknowledged the community’s frustrations concerning prior delays in updates, stating, “We want to ensure clarity regarding the Season 1 launch date without the usual ‘tentative date’ or ‘unless unforeseen issues arise’ disclaimers, as this approach has not been effective in the past.”

Improved Gameplay Experience

Today’s update is not just limited to player interactions; it also includes enhancements for mouse and keyboard controls with the introduction of new tap-aim mechanics. Players can expect fixes for various issues, including ball rollback and goalkeeper invulnerability glitches. Furthermore, efforts have been made to reduce desyncs and animation errors, alongside updates to visual elements to make gameplay more engaging.
