Recent Ara: History Untold Patch Brings Game Balance Changes and Updates

In late September, developer Oxide Games, in collaboration with publisher Microsoft, launched the grand strategy game Ara: History Untold, exclusively for PC. Following its release, the team has been actively releasing patches to rectify various issues reported by players.

This week, Oxide Games introduced a substantial update, shifting the game to version 1.0.3. According to the official patch notes, this update features numerous balance adjustments alongside enhancements targeting stability, performance, and game settings:

Balance Adjustments

  • Academy wealth maintenance revised from 8 down to 3
  • Eliminated food maintenance requirement for Air Force Base
  • Removed wealth maintenance for Armory, while reducing materials maintenance from 4 to 3
  • Brewery now has its food maintenance lowered from 3 to 1, and wealth maintenance adjusted from 5 to 1
  • Adjusted Chemist wealth maintenance from 7 to 3
  • Revised Community Garden wealth maintenance from 20 to 1
  • Data Center wealth maintenance decreased from 10 to 3

Game Settings Improvements

  • Fixed a problem where certain players couldn’t join multiplayer sessions due to save file incompatibility
  • Update to the game’s default settings (Auto Detect) has been made
  • Maximum Frame Rate has been standardized to 60 by default, with options for players to modify this setting

Performance Enhancements

  • Tackled an issue that could cause crashes for a few players when hovering over the Army panel
  • Optimizations in Graphics Rendering enhance framerates, especially at higher resolutions
  • Players can now change the default maximum framerate of 60, which helps in reducing power usage on laptops
