According to the Los Angeles Times, Williamson publicly announced her exit from The Rookie via Instagram in August 2019, citing experiences of racial discrimination, racially charged remarks from the hair department, and bullying from the show’s executive producers. Furthermore, she accused Demetrius Grosse, a recurring guest star, of sexual harassment and alleged assault by hair department head Sally Ciganovich. Below is a portion of Williamson’s announcement:
