Today marks an exhilarating milestone for fans of Sea of Thieves, as Rare has launched the second segment of its Wild Things Season 15 update. This release is highlighted by a collaboration with Bungie, introducing a stunning collection of cosmetics inspired by the Destiny franchise. Adam Park, the director of brand and licensing at Rare, shared his thoughts on this unexpected merger of gaming worlds.“As we explore various cosmetic crossovers and Tall Tales, our teams continually seek innovative ways to integrate external universes into Sea of Thieves with a distinctive flair, regardless of their origins, ” he explained. He further noted that Destiny’s cooperative play and class dynamics resonate with the crew-like bonds central to the pirate experience, complemented by the franchise’s iconic visuals and grand, mythical themes.

Creative Synergy: Bridging Two Universes

This impressive collaboration has been in the works since 2023, with both developers hard at work to merge Destiny’s high-tech aesthetics with the enchanting art style of Sea of Thieves.“From the initial concept sketches to final designs that respect both game universes, each phase has pushed us to innovate, ” said Andria Warren, Rare’s director of creative operations.“This creative challenge has fueled our teams, culminating in a product we are incredibly proud to unveil!”

What’s New in the Lightbearer Collection?

The Lightbearer collection brings forth a range of decorative items that enhance the Sea of Thieves experience, including thematic pirate outfits, custom ship sets, weapon skins, and unique trinkets. As with all premium content in Sea of Thieves, these items are purely aesthetic and can be acquired through the Pirate Emporium in-game.

Additional Features in the Latest Update

In addition to the new crossover items, today’s update for Sea of Thieves introduces a variety of enhancements.
